It arrived on Sunday and I started it last night. Tim has a way with words that makes you laugh out loud. Knowing that our law enforcement has had a bad rap recently, this book shows what can be the ‘lighter’ side of police work. My son had picked it up after school (he also read Mr. Cotton’s “The Detective in the Dooryard”) and completed this book in one day! He couldn’t put it down. He laughed, shook his head, and thought these officers never have a dull moment. I was happy to start the book Sunday and the stories are so well written. TC (yes, we follow him on social media) humanizes each individual, writes with a caring heart, all while keeping it real. I finished the book this morning and cannot wait to pass it on to my Mom. We have a niece and nephew in our family who serve as police officers and it is so nice to read something which represents the police in a positive, caring manner. Great read! My mother, a product of the big city, would do a dramatic reading of the Police Blotter that ran weekly in our local paper. • 5.0 out of 5 stars from Mitra Lee -- Better Than a Slice of NY Cheesecake : Goodness gracious I totally enjoyed this book! I work upstairs from a Police Station in a little town that is sometimes referred to as Hell-mira so I can imagine what these stories really were but reading them with Tim's spin and sometimes alliteration not only amuse me but have made me realize that good stories are everywhere. I did mean what I said that this book is better than a slice of NY Cheesecake. I can say that since I'm from NY and have read a lot of books and eaten a lot of cheesecake. He has a special way with words and can create a picture of the event that just makes you see the humor of the situation.
